The Ottawa River rises at Lac des Outaouais and flows west to Lake Timiskaming. From Lake Timiskaming, the river flows southeast to Ottawa and Gatineau, where it tumbles over Chaudière Falls and further takes in the Rideau and Gatineau rivers. The Ottawa River drains into the Lake of Two Mountains and the St. Lawrence River at Montreal.
Located 25km east from Golden Anchor Marina is the unique Carillon Canal lock, which includes a guillotine gate weighing close to 200 tons and allows to cross a difference in level of more than 20m (65 ft) in less than 45 minutes! From the top of the lock deck, you can see a magnificent landscape.
Located 25km west from Golden Anchor Marina is Camping des Chutes de la Rouge beach.
